Strictly Stick to a Liquid Diet

  • Have full blended soups and smoothies for the first 2 days after surgery.
  • Avoid foods that have small particles in them to avoid the possibility of interference with the healing process.
  • Gradually introduce soft foods like yogurt after two days.

Rinse Your Mouth for Clean Gum Tissue

  • Avoid vigorously rinsing your mouth for the first 24 hours after surgery.
  • Use a mixture of sea salt and water to rinse after meals to prevent infection.

Take Vitamins A and C

  • Include vitamin A-rich foods like carrots and sweet potatoes in your diet.
  • Consume vitamin C-rich foods such as citrus and strawberries to aid in healing.

Treat Your Gums to Tea Bags

  • Use cooled black tea bags on slightly bleeding or sore gums.
  • The tannic acid in black tea promotes coagulation and has antiseptic qualities.
